Our runs

  • We have 15+ trail runs every month.

  • Every week we have:

    • One run which is about 5km

    • One which is 7-12km

    • Another which is 15km+

    • One which has a focused aspect (such as 'hills' or 'speed').

  • Our routes are usually in and around both Gloucester and Cheltenham.

  • We also occasionally run further afield in places such as along the Cotswold Way, the Forest of Dean, and the Malvern Hills. 

  • We keep things interesting by changing the schedule slightly from one month to the next; the schedule gets released around the 20th of the month.

  •  focus of the club is pace of our runs depends on various factors - the distance, terrain and elevation involved.

Club runs

We don't have a fixed schedule, however you can expect the following every week:

  • 5k-10k social runs throughout the week

  • Hill training sessions

  • Long runs at weekends in amazing locations

We also organise multiple training camps every year in locations such as the Lake District, Dartmoor, Snowdonia and the Brecon Beacons (tickets for camps are sold separately).

FAQs

How does the schedule work?

The next month's schedule is released to members near the end of the previous month. It contains everything you need to know, including dates and times, route info, meeting locations, and any required kit.

Where are your runs?

Our monthly schedules combine regular club trails with new routes every month - this helps to keep things varied and sometimes a little spicy!

When are your runs?

Again, the run schedule will differ slightly from month-to-month. However, in general, there will be at least one weekend run (usually at 8:30am), and runs during the week will usually be at 6:30pm.

What are the runs like?

Think of our runs as a reason to be outdoors, with a bit of running thrown in! They're not for chasing PBs or for show-offs, our runs are chatty, friendly and scenic adventures!

Who leads the runs?

Our run leaders are a really friendly crew, and are all from different running backgrounds. They're all England Athletics LiRF qualified, and are a really experienced and passionate bunch of trail runners!

Is it just running, running and more running?

Absolutely not! We really love the additional social aspects of being part of a club, including:

  • (Non-running!) social events

  • Post-run socials

  • Chat to other members on our Slack channel

  • Meetups at races and events

Who started the club?

The club is part of the successful Trail Runners group, which was founded in 2019, and consists of the original Bristol Trail Runners club, along with another club in Bath.
