the coaching
Using the tried and trusted "10% rule", each week's run increases by a maximum of 10%, ensuring that runners don't over-exert themselves, risk injury and fatigue.
The weekly "two on, one off" structure is designed to give flexibility within the course, allowing runners to complete that week's run independently, at a time and location which completely suits them.
The course is hosted by Phil Hobbins-White, a UESCA-qualified trail running coach. After week one, every run will have at least two run leaders present, enabling the group to split if necessary, to cater for different abilities and paces.
The importance of the group check-in video call should not be underestimated; training for something difficult can sometimes be isolating, and the sharing of progress with one another will be a healthy and morale-boosting feature of the course.
The video check-ins will be hosted by the primary course run leader, who will offer guidance and advice to all attendees. The bulk of these catch-ups will feature runners discussing the journey they've been on, asking each other questions, and sharing any tips which have worked well for them.
Requirements:
You must be able to run 10km continuously before starting this course, otherwise the increases from one week to the next are likely to be too great.
Trail running shoes are mandatory, as well as carrying 500ml of water (for every hour).
You will also need to run at least once per week outside of the course's sessions in order to make progress.

Deferral, refund and postponement policy:
We understand that sometimes life circumstances change our plans.
Please note the following procedures:
-
Should you wish to defer your place on the course, the deadline for this is 3 weeks before the course starts. Refunds are not possible, but instead, credit will be issued for the value of the course, to be used on any future courses with us, or any merch items, retreats or one-to-one coaching.
-
The course requires a minimum of four attendees, and we reserve the right to postpone the course if the minimum number is not met. Under such circumstances, you will be offered either a full refund or a place on the same course when it becomes scheduled.
