Coaching is for anyone and everyone who has a goal - whether that’s running your first 10K, nailing a marathon, or simply finding the motivation to get out the door through the darker months.
Maybe you’ve been running for years and hit a plateau, or you’re eyeing a tougher trail adventure like a big ultra...?! Personalised coaching will help you break through and reach the next level, whatever your goals.

Whether you're chasing a race PB, building fitness, or going further than ever before, we’ll help you make those winter miles count — and turn them into results.


How does it work?
1. CONNECT
You connect with your coach on TrainingPeaks. (There's no extra fee for this).
2. DISCUSS
You and the coach discuss fitness and lifestyle topics, and your goals.
3. PLAN
The coach will then create your individualised training plan, and share it with you through TrainingPeaks.
4. TRAIN
The coach will then create your individualised training plan, and share it with you through TrainingPeaks.
5. PERFORMANCE
As you work through your training programme, your smartwatch will sync with TrainingPeaks, providing data from your workouts for you and your coach to analyse.
6. FEEDBACK
You and coach have regular catch-up video calls to give feedback on your progress. Adjustments to your training plan can be made here.
7. PROGRESS
Towards the end of the month your coach will publish the next month's training plan.


The club's coaches
There are three coaches on the roster at C&G Trail Runners:
Phil Hobbins-White:

Phil is a qualified UESCA Running Coach, achieving a near-perfect score in his exam, and also holds a LiRF run leader qualification with England Athletics.

Phil regularly competes in UK and international trail ultramarathons.
Ash Tuck:

Ash has many years of experience in the sports industry as a personal trainer, coach and run leader.

He has competed in a wide range of endurance events including Ironman and the legendary Dragon's Back race.
Archie Carnell:
(currently full)

Archie is the definition of a coaching all-rounder: a run coach, personal trainer, and a triathlon coach.

He started taking on ultra endurance events aged 19 years, and likes to keep pushing his physical and mental limits to the max.



Payment
Coaching is on a month-by-month basis, and can be paused or cancelled at any time.
Pausing your coaching account is often the preferred approach is the athlete is injured or unable to train for other reasons.
You're in complete control of the start date, so just tell your coach when you're ready to get started!
